This is such a good album. It's old school skinhead Oi with fat, clunky bass and lyrics (which you can actually hear!!!!). There aren't any breakdowns, sing-a-longs, talks about honor, doublebass, synthesizers, slide whistles, speeches, or growling. It's fantastic. Though there are cute ass songs with pianos... ;D
The song titles and lyrics remind me of Blood For Blood, but without the Boston white trash influence...still, they almost always sing about beer which makes them the best. Listening to them is like watching a commercial for Foster's.
Plus the vocalist is fucking hilarious. A large portion of the album is heckling from the crowd and him calling them out lol.
Anyone else in to them?

no lol.
The only skin shit worth listening to is old Agnostic Front, Blitz, Cocksparrer and lower-east side era Warzone.

That's crazy talk Mr. Chadwick. The 4-Skins are classic Oi. This shit is tight as hell. The lyrics are simple and the songs are catchy as hell. It's good, pub loving skinhead music lol.
Everything I've heard (with the exception of a few songs) by Agnostic is mediocre at best. Blitz I haven't listened to yet. I'll check out Cocksparrer and Warzone though.

no fucking way. horrible, horrible, horrible. I'm guessing you've only listened to Epitaph records era A-F in which case you've only heard about 1/3 of all their material. Victim in Pain / Cause of Alarm is one of the better hardcore albums ever put out. It came out of New York and at least it's not boring youth crew.

Agnostic Front is very bland (new and old). Cause for Alarm/Victim in Pain is mediocre at best and their new shit is terrible. I mean they're good for a hardcore band but the thing I dislike about them most as that they're too hardcore. I like the general attitude but the music irritates the shit out of me for some reason...it seems generic as fuck. I hate the guitar work and drumming. Then again I have to give them credit because this shit is twenty years old so it's good considering the time.
Anyway...Agnostic Front is good at what they do but they are beside the point.
Now to talk out of my ass: The 4-Skins seem to have done what most other hardcore/punk bands try to do. It's music that seems to represent the working class spirit and it does this well. They don't give much of a shit about impressing people with their personal politics or system of values (and neither does anyone else). They keep shit simple. The songs are catchy, the music is good, and the lyrics are tight as shit hahah.
The 4-Skins are GOOD, old, English-skinhead Oi. It's the best of the best.
I'm shocked you (Dylan) aren't in to them lol...you seem to like the DIY/'all for one' kind of shit.
