i thought it was good, a little more expiramental with the use of pedals and stuff, and a little bit longer than most songs, but i liked it.

the gigantic holes left in the back of my mouth do to the humongous teeth that used to be there caused pain that kept me from attending this social event.

the show was okay, we played pretty horrible. oh well. the environment was weird tonight. hush! you sounded fine! black cross was good... i'm glad i put earplugs in though... basically all it was was feedback with the occasional chord played... wolverines was good. the first couple songs were pretty boring and sounded like my friends and I jamming on a scale but it got better near the end and the last song was tight as hell. Cheapshot played well. I've only seen them one time before and they seem like they've improved, so DONT GET DOWN ON YOURSELVES not gonna say anything bad about others... or at least not try to...

andrew, what'd you think about orange light and anorexic beauty queen? I think ABQ is on the right track, but they ruin every song by changing the dynamics so dramatically by going all emo. they start out fun and dancy and they change to sound like good chalotte or something... potential, but not following up. i'm really sick of OLM... I think i've seen them at least 30 times now (no exageration). about a year ago they had a really tight set, but now it seems like Drew has a huuuuuggggeee head and doesn't actually say anything ever... he just screams incoherently the same songs over and over and waves his hand in the air. ryan and ed are awesome guys though and as far as i can tell are still improving with stage antics and aren't going downhill.

sorry to make that long and preachy... didn't mean for it to be so negative and whatnot, but its all constructive criticism.

there was something weird in the air tonight. fun show though. wolverines and brass were fucking awesome, they sounded like the jesus lizard. Ha ha, that band was terrible. Sounds like what you would expect to come out of Louisville these days... Anyways, Black Cross were okay, a little shaky, but whatever. Decent show all in all. Stoked that In Tongues cancelled.

the only way to get respected by the 'maximum' Louisville bands/kids is to sound like the Jesus Lizard....

Fuck the whole Maximum thing now.
Breather was the only band that was doing anything interesting and they just dropped the ball. Oh well, more washed up pompous ex hardcore dudes trying real hard to be respected by more washed up pompous ex hardcore dudes. Sounds a lot like Louisville.

Seriously, Louisville USED to have a lot of respect all across the country. Now, the only band that kids are stoked on out of Louisville is Coliseum (and rightly so).
You have no idea how many times I go to shows, start a conversation with someone and they'll ask where I'm from, and I'll say "Elizabethtown Kentucky, it's about 45 minutes south of Lousivlle." They'll get this look on their face like "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO LOUISVILLE?" They start talking on and on about Endpoint and Automatic and Guilt and then on to By The Grace of God, and Elliot though to Black Cross...and then they'll just get this confused look on their face like "who's going to carry the torch now?"
When Coliseum came to Salt Lake, some guy like started comlaining to me, almost pleading with me to make Louisville better. The guy was a steel worker in Pittsburgh, but he'd been to every Krazyfest and was a huge Initial records head. He sat down with me and told me all kinds of stories about how he went to highschool with Rob Pennington, and just sounded totally heartbroken. I'll admit, it was amazing to hear about all these bands OUTSIDE of Louisville, but it really made me bummed that Louisville isn't doing anything that noteworthy. Hell, even the first Lords album was making waves...now they're weaksauce as well...
I hate to sound so bitter and asshole-ish, but i almost wish that I could brag on Louisville to all the hardcore kids out here...I can't really....
My buddy Chris is from Richmond Virigina...Richmond is what's up right now....soooo many good bands.
